Maria Norma de Oliveira Braz Peixoto da Silva

- Phd in Social Services by the program of Post-Graduate Studies in Social Work from PUC-SP (1999).- Currenty, professor at University of Santo Amaro - UNISA, teaches different subjects at the Social Service course. Has been in the academic area for 10 years. In 2008, has conferred the inauguratory class of the course in which the theme was The contribution of the social worker in face of the current challenges of the contemporaneous world".- Actually coordenating the Latu Sensu Post Graduate course Specialization in management of Public Policies at UNISA. The course has a 12 month/360 hours schedule and its first class graduated in 1997. The course consists on the following modules: Society Transformation and Citizenship; Changes in the labor world and the Social Matter; Territory and Social Diagnosis; Social Policies; Brazilian Constitution and Social rights legislation; Protection and Social Security; Public Policies Management(I and II) ; History and trends; Inclusion/Exclusion and Social Role Playing; Didactics of Major Education; Scientific Methodology. The approach of the classes is to introduce existential, common and recent themes in order to creatively motivate the group to interact with the proposed content. Such encounters are in fact invitations to the participation of all with practical exercises to promote the reflexion and discussion of what has been brought. - In the area of Scientific research, was a researcher from the Social Work and Security Studies at the Post Graduate program of PUC-SP, under the coordination of professor Aldaiza de Oliveira Sposati, from 1994 to 1999. On the occasion, was the colaborator of the Social Work and Security Studies Journal, and has also integrated the scientific research team at the Special Research Institute at PUC-SP for the development of the pogram Série: Programs and Services of Social Service further resulting in the publication named Directives for the elaboration and implementation of Municipal Plans of Social Service 1998. under the coordination of professor Raquel Raichelis Degenszajn.- Vice-president of the Regional Board of Social Service in São Paulo CRESS and member of the Municipal Board of Social Service of São Paulo (1993-2001), worked as parlamentary assessor at the Municipal Chamber of São Paulo, having developed activities related to the functons of the Legislative Power in the defense and implementation of the Organic Law of Social Work LOAS (Fed. Law 8.742 of Dec. 7th, 1993). - Supervisor of the Municipal Secretariate of Social Service in São Paulo (2001 2003) for the south region of São Paulo and coordenator of Social Development at the same region. - Currently integrating the board of the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reformation at São Paulo.

Norma Braz é professora do curso de Serviço Social da Universidade Federal de São Paulo, campus Baixada Santista. Coordena o Núcleo de Estudos, Pesquisa e Extensão em Política Social. Reúne experiência na área de Serviço Social com ênfase em Política Social. Atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: necessidades humano-sociais, política de seguridade e assistência social, sistema único de assistência social e violação de direitos.
