Maria Pace Chiavari

Graduated in Architecture at Università degli Studi di Firenze (1970), with experience in the field of Urban Design and Planning. Was accepted to the Troisième Cycle ofthe Institut d'Urbanisme, Universitè Paris VIII, Vencennes (1974-1977) before arriving in Brazil (1977), where between 1981-83 attended the PROURB /FAU- UFRJ course. Active from 1986 to 2009 with the Instituto italiano de Cultura of Rio de Janeiro as a manager and organizer of Cultural Events. As an autonomous researcher, has focused her interests on the History of Photography and the development of the city of Rio de Janeiro, from the XIX to the early XX centuries, contributing with several magazines, and attending several seminars about Arts and Urban Studies in Brazil.

Possui graduação em Arquitetura - Università degli Studi di Firenze (1970), com experiência na área de Urbanismo, Foi aceita no Troisième Cycle do Institut de Urbanisme, Universitè Paris VIII, Vencennes (1974-1977) antes de chegar ao Brasil (1977) e entre 1981-83 seguiu o curso do PROURB /FAU- UFRJ. Atuou entre 1986-2009 no Instituto italiano de Cultura do Rio de Janeiro na área de organização de eventos culturais. Como pesquisadora autônoma concentrou seus interesses sobre a história da fotografia e o desenvolvimento da cidade do Rio de Janeiro do século XIX e início do século XX, escrevendo diferentes artigos em revistas e participando de seminários sobre Arte e Urbanismo no Brasil.
