Manoel de Campos Almeida

Has a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidade Federal Do Paraná (1970), a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Universidade Federal do Paraná (1970) and Masters Degree in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (1998). Former Professor and Dean of the Mathematics Department of UFPr. Adjunct Professor Emeritus of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, where he exerted various roles, as General Coordinator of the Laboratories of the institution, Chairman of the Vestibular Commission, Advisor to the Rectory of Planning and Development, among others. He was head of the Departments: Project Analysis, Business Monitoring, Project Control and Expansion (Marketing) of the Paraná Development Bank- BADEP. It has extensive experience in the areas of consulting in Economic Engineering and Analysis of Investment Projects and Computer Technology. He is the author of several books and articles, lecturer, having taught several courses. Researcher acting in the following themes: History and Pre-history of Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Ethnomathematics, History of Science, Neurophysiology of Mathematics (employing Medical Images). Visiting Scholar of the Max Planck Institute für Wissenschaflicht Geschichte, Berlin. Publisher reviewer; Coordinator and Member of Scientific Committees of several events.

Possui graduação em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (1970),Licenciatura em Física pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (1970) e mestrado em Mestrado Em Educação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (1998). Ex-Professor e Decano do Departamento de Matemática da UFPr. Professor Adjunto Emérito da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, onde exerceu vário cargos, como Coordenador Geral dos Laboratórios da Instituição, Presidente da Comissão de Vestibular, Assessor da Pró-Reitoria de Planejamento e Desenvolvimento, entre outros. Foi Chefe dos Departamentos: de Análise de Projetos, De Acompanhamento de Empresas, de Controle de Projetos e de Expansão (Marketing) do Banco de Desenvolvimento do Paraná.Tem larga experiência nas áreas de consultoria em Engenharia Econômica e Análise de Projetos de Investimento, Informática. É autor de vários livros e artigos, conferencista e palestrante, tendo ministrado vários cursos. Pesquisador atuante nos seguintes temas: História e Pré-História da Matemática, Educação Matemática, Etnomatemática, História da Ciência, Neurofisiologia da Matemática (empregando Imagens médicas). Visiting Scholar do Max Planck Institute für Wissenschaflicht Geschichte, Berlim. Parecerista de Editoras; Coordenador e Membro de Comissões Cientìficas de Eventos.
