Joanna Vargas Zillig Echenique

Atualmente é Doutoranda no Setor de Patologia Veterinária na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Possui Mestrado em em Patologia Animal pelo Programa de pós-graduação em Veterinária na UFPel com ênfase em patologia de animais silvestres e "spillover" e residência em patologia animal pelo SPV-UFRGS. Atuou como médica veterinária voluntária do Núcleo de Recuperação de Fauna Silvestre (NURFS-CETAS-UFPel). Foi bolsista de iniciação científica (IC-FAPERGS) do Laboratório Regional de Diagnóstico (LRD-UFPel) durante dois anos participando do projeto intitulado "Identificação de enfermidades e lesões em mamíferos marinhos no sul do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil". Tem experiência com monitoramento de praia, manejo de animais silvestres e marinhos. Realizou seu estágio final em em patologia animal, com ênfase em patologia de animais silvestres. Atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: enfermedades de mamíferos marinhos, patologia de aves silvestres e 'spill-over'.

Is currently a Resident in the Veterinary Pathology Sector at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He has a Master's degree in Animal Pathology from the Veterinary Pathology Graduate Program at UFPel with an emphasis on wildlife pathology and spillover. She worked as a volunteer veterinarian at the Wild Fauna Recovery Center (NURFS-CETAS-UFPel). She was a scientific initiation scholar (IC-FAPERGS) of the Regional Diagnostic Laboratory (LRD-UFPel) for two years participating in the project entitled "Identification of diseases and injuries in marine mammals in southern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil". Has experience with beach monitoring, wildlife and marine management. He completed his final internship in Animal Pathology, with an emphasis on Wild Animal Pathology. Acting on the following subjects: marine mammal disease, wild bird pathology and spill-over.
