My research background: Here in Brazil my co-advisor (a test pilot) and I have initiated aresearch to understand how the physiology of pilots influences their decision-making andperformance capabilities, especially when subjected to a stressful situation and high workload. We have started a campaign that has as a novelty the possibility of "instrumenting" the testpilots and, thus, to be able to know his (her) physiological limits and quantify the workload tocarry out each phase of the autorotative flight (in which the pilot simulates a crash beingnecessary impose a decreasing of speed before landing). In this initial phase, several sensorswere set in the pilot to measure his pressure, body temperature and sweating. A portableelectroencephalogram (EEG) and an eye tracking have been also used. The facilities of thesesensors are aimed at assessing the pilot's possible emotional state, concentration, and reactioncapacities in the event of a serious threat. Autorotation is the focus of this research, when theengine has a partial or total failure. In the campaign (October/2017), 13 pilots were subjectedto this type of flight and were evaluated under extreme conditions of stress and workload, duringautorotation. They were submitted in every flight envelope of the height-velocity diagram, known as "Dead Man's Curve". The Academic coordination is being carried out by theDepartment of Aeronautical Project and the Bioengineering Laboratory with the InstitutoTecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), as well as by the Hospital Albert Einstein, in São Paulo(SP).My Qualification: I am Master in Aeronautical Engineering, 2015 - ITA ? InstitutoTecnológico de Aeronáutica ? Brazil. I am Bachelor of Sciences, in Production Engineering,2011 - FEI - Industrial Engineering College ? Brazil. My Work Experience: Nowadays I am researcher with the Fraunhofer Project Center forInnovations in Advanced Manufacturing (FPC @ ITA) studying: Requirement IntegrationErgonomic Method and Human Factors Aviation. I have worked at Embraer with ProcessDevelopment Engineer from Nov/2013 to Jan/2016. And I have been studying on Embraer?sProgram - Engineering Specialization Program from Aug/2012 to Nov/2013.
