Suzann K Campbell

Currently Professor Emerita, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and formerly served as Director of Mentoring Services for UIC's Center for Clinical and Translational Science. My role was to support the career development of junior faculty and fellows by arranging mentoring services and assisting faculty in evaluating mentoring provided in training grants. During this appointment I served as the local PI for a controlled trial of an educational program to improve mentoring skills of senior faculty members and established services for faculty. My research career focused on improvement of measurement and decision making for diagnosis and assessment of outcomes in high-risk infants and evaluation of the effects of a variety of interventions on parents and their infants with disabilities. Of particular relevance to this proposal is that I am the co-developer of the Test of Infant Motor Performance (TIMP) which is described in review articles as validated for diagnosis of developmental delay in high-risk infants and evaluation of outcomes of neonatal interventions. I developed media for learning to score the TIMP, have trained researchers in its use, and regularly teach workshops all over the world on use of the TIMP in research and clinical practice.
