Doutor em Física pela Universidade Federal Fluminense, onde também formou-se mestre em Física, bem como bacharel em Física. Atuante na área de Astrofísica Nuclear com ênfase em estrelas de nêutrons.

PhD in Physics by Federal Fluminense University, where he has obtained the Master degree in Physics, and where he has also graduated in Physics. Active in the Nuclear Astrophysics area with emphasis in neutron stars.
