Tamiris da Costa Pacheco

In 2009 Dr. da Costa started her academic studies in Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Pampa in Brazil. In 2014, she started a master's degree in Engineering at the same university focused on transfer phenomena. In 2015, she started a PhD in Environmental Engineering at the University of Aveiro in Portugal, focused on the environmental assessment of forest residues valorisation for bioenergy production in a life cycle sustainability perspective. Her research was within the scope of the projects SustainFOR (PTDC/AGR-FOR/1510/2014), the project SABIOS (PTDC/AAG-MAA/6234/2014) and the project WAFLE (PTDC/ASP-SIL/31573/2017). In 2019, she was awarded a Post-doctoral Research grant at the University of Aveiro under the Interreg Atlantic Area project NEPTUNUS (EAPA 576/2018), which assessed eco-innovation strategies to reduce food waste in the seafood sector. The work developed in this project promoted eco-labeling under the water-energy-food NEXUS approach in the seafood sector to minimise environmental impacts while incorporating competitive products into green markets. Since 2021, she has held a position as a Post-doctoral Researcher (Fellow Level 1) in the project REAMIT (NWE 831/2019) at the University College Dublin in Ireland. The project aims to improve the resource efficiency of agribusiness supply chains. Her activities include the life cycle assessment of all technologies employed in REAMIT, which involves existing technologies (Big Data and IoT sensors) tested in supply chain companies to monitor food quality.
