Flávio Ruas de Moraes holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Faculty of Agrarian and Veterinary Sciences (1976), a PhD in Pharmacology from the Medical School of Ribeirão Preto (1981) and a PhD in Morphology and Cell Biology from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (1986). Pathological Anatomy in 1989 and Full Professor in the same discipline since 1996, in the Department of Veterinary Pathology, Faculty of Agrarian and Veterinary Sciences, Universidade Estadual Paulista, Unesp, Jaboticabal, SP. Has experience in Veterinary Medicine, with emphasis in Experimental and Comparative Pathology and Ichthyopathology. Leads a research group in the local and systemic line of inflammation in fish investigating the effect of dietary supplements, stress and interference of hormones in the process, besides studies on immunology applied in fish of economic interest. In 2014 he had his laboratory referred to by the Annual Newsletter Winter / Spring, v. 12, issue 1, Physiology Section of the American Fisheries Society.
Graduado em Medicina Veterinária pela Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias E Veterinárias (1976), mestre em Farmacologia pela Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (1981) e doutor em Morfologia e Biologia Celular pela Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (1986), Livre-Docente em Anatomia Patológica em 1989 e Professor Titular na mesma disciplina desde 1996, no Departamento de Patologia Veterinária da Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias da Universidade Estadual Paulista, Unesp, Jaboticabal, SP. Tem experiência em Medicina Veterinária, com ênfase em Patologia Experimental e Comparada e Ictiopatologia. Lidera grupo de pesquisa na linha de inflamação local e sistêmica em peixes investigando o efeito de suplementos alimentares, estresse e interferência de hormônios no processo , além de estudos sobre imunologia aplicada em peixes de interesse econômico. Em 2014 teve seu laboratório referido pela Annual Newsletter Winter/Spring, v. 12, issue 1, Physiology Section of the American Fisheries Socitety.
