Graduated in Electrical Engineering (1985) with specialization in Computer Science (1985) and PhD in Electrical Engineering (1995) from the University of São Paulo. He was a visiting researcher at the Image Science Institute, Utrecht University, Netherlands (1996) and at the University of Southern California, United States (2006-2007). He currently coordinates the Informatics Service and the Biomedical Informatics Laboratory at the Heart Institute of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. He is also a collaborating professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo and Elected Member (2020) of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics (IAHSI) of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA). He has over 30 years of experience in the areas of Biomedical Engineering and Biomedical Informatics, acting mainly in the processing of biological signals and medical images.
Possui graduação em Engenharia Elétrica (1985), especialização em Ciências de Computação (1985) e doutorado em Engenharia Elétrica (1995) pela Universidade de São Paulo. Foi pesquisador visitante no Image Science Institute, Utrecht University, Holanda (1996) e na University of Southern California, Estados Unidos (2006-2007). Atualmente coordena o Serviço de Informática e o Laboratório de Informática Biomédica do Instituto do Coração do Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo. É professor livre docente colaborador na Faculdade de Medicina e na Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo e Membro Eleito (2020) da International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics (IAHSI) da International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA).Tem mais de 30 anos de experiência nas áreas de Engenharia Biomédica e Informática Biomédica, atuando principalmente em processamento de sinais biológicos e imagens médicas.
