Graduated in Dentistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) (1995), Master in Biological Sciences (2000) from UFMG (2000) and PhD in Dentistry (Oral Pathology) (2003) from the Faculty of Dentistry of Bauru, University of São Paulo Paulo (USP). Obtained the title of Livre-Docente in the area of Stomatology at the Faculty of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto-USP (2020). She is currently an Associate Professor of Stomatology / Oral Pathology and Hospital Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry at UFMG. Permanent professor of PPG in Dentistry at UFMG since 2006. She has a degree in Hospital Dentistry, working since 2009 at the Dentistry Service of Hospital das Clínica-UFMG. Member of the editorial board of the Journal of Dental Research since 2017 and ad hoc reviewer of several national and international journals and development agencies. Develops research projects mainly on the following themes: animal models of oral diseases and bone remodeling; diagnosis and treatment of oral lesions; oral cancer; oral / periodontal impacts of systemic diseases and associated mechanisms, including rheumatic diseases, osteoporosis and COVID-19.
Possui graduação em Odontologia pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) (1995), mestrado em Ciências Biológicas (2000) pela UFMG (2000) e doutorado em Odontologia (Patologia Bucal) (2003) pela Faculdade de Odontologia de Bauru, Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Possui livre docência na área de Estomatologia pela Faculdade de Odontologia de Ribeirão Preto-USP (2020). Atualmente é professora Titular de Estomatologia/Patologia Bucal e Odontologia Hospitalar da Faculdade de Odontologia da UFMG. Docente permanente do PPG em Odontologia da UFMG desde 2006. Possui Habilitação em Odontologia Hospitalar atuando desde 2009 no Serviço de Odontologia do Hospital das Clínicas-UFMG. Membro do corpo editorial do periódico Journal of Dental Research desde 2017 e revisora ad hoc de vários periódicos e agências de fomento nacionais e internacionais. Desenvolve projetos de pesquisa principalmente nos seguintes temas: modelos animais de doenças bucais e remodelação óssea; diagnóstico e tratamento de lesões orais; câncer bucal; impactos orais/periodontais de doenças sistêmicas e mecanismos associados.
