Possui graduação em Medicina pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (2003), especialização em Medicina Interna (2006) e Oncologia Clínica (2008) no Hospital São Lucas da PUCRS, Porto Alegre, Brasil. Ex-medical fellow do European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) 2008-2011, Bruxelas, Bélgica. Fellow do Flims workshop de pesquisa em cancer, Suíça e da ESMO translational research unit visit, Berlin, Alemanha. Atualmente é membro da American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), membro da American Cancer Society of Oncology (ASCO) e da European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO).
Áreas de interesse são desenvolvimento de novas drogas e métodos em pesquisa clínica em câncer de mama.

Former Scientific Director of the Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group (LACOG), investigator of the Clinical Research Centre. Currently Head of Medicine and Research of the German Breast Group, Neu-Isenburg, Germany. Areas of interest are drug development and methods of clinical trials in breast cancer.
