Claudio Ricardo Martins dos Reis

Adjunct Professor at the Biology Institute of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Member of the Teaching, Philosophy and History of Biology Laboratory (LEFHBio). Doctor in Philosophy (UFRGS), Master in Ecology (UFRGS) and Bachelor in Biological Sciences (UFRGS). He is interested in Philosophy, History and Sociology of Science, especially Biology, including the social dimension of scientific knowledge and the appropriate role of values ​​in the production of that knowledge. He is linked to the INCT in Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies in Ecology and Evolution (IN-TREE), funded by CNPq and FAPESB, which brings together about 200 researchers from 13 Brazilian institutions and 35 foreign institutions (https://intree.org/ ). Participates in the international project entitled "Toward a science of intrinsic purposiveness: an organizational account of ecological functions and its implications for ecological research and environmental ethics" (https://www.biologicalpurpose.org/subaward-project/organizational-account-ecological- functions). He is a collaborating member of the Study and Research Group on Enativism and Ecological Psychology (GEPEPE), which is mainly linked to the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - UFRGS (https://www.ufrgs.br/gepepe/). He also collaborates with the blog "Dialectical Systems: A Forum for Biology, Ecology and Cognitive Science", which has researchers from different countries and institutions (https://www.dialecticalsystems.eu/).

Professor adjunto de Filosofia, História e Sociologia da Ciência no Instituto de Biologia da Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA). Membro do laboratório de Ensino, Filosofia e História da Biologia (LEFHBio). Doutor em Filosofia (UFRGS), mestre em Ecologia (UFRGS) e bacharel em Ciências Biológicas (UFRGS). Tem interesse especial em Filosofia da Biologia, da Ecologia e da Agroecologia, incluindo investigações sobre o papel apropriado dos valores na ciência.
