Juliana Tavora
JT is an Oceanographer interested in the dynamics of suspended particles in estuarine and coastal waters using remote sensing and modeling techniques. She has a MSc. in Oceanography at the University of Maine (USA), a BSc. in Oceanography at FURG (Brazil), and an ASc in Geoprocessing and GIS (Brazil). JT main research activities focus on the variability of suspended sediment transport due to geological (sediment erosion, deposition) and physical (rivers discharge, winds, tides, extreme weather events) processes in coastal areas. JT is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Twente - Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, the Netherlands, looking at the effects of extreme events on sediments in coastal waters.
