Enfermeiro formado pela Universidade Federal do Piauí. Mestre em Ciências pela Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto, Universidade de São Paulo - USP, Doutor em Ciências pela Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto, Universidade de São Paulo - USP, em cotutela (Dupla titulação) com a Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública (ENSP), da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL), Lisboa, Portugal, com bolsa vigente do Programa Institucional de Internacionalização ? CAPES - PrInt (2019-2020). Faz parte do GEPECOPEn - Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Comunicação no Processo de Enfermagem-USP, NUPCISS-Núcleo de Pesquisa em Prevenção e Controle de Infecção em Serviços de Saúde-UFPI e GEVISA - Grupo de Estudos de Vigilância em Saúde-UFPI. Faz parte do corpo editorial da Revista Prevenção de Infecção e Saúde (QUALIS B3), e consultor ad hoc de dezenas de periódicos Regionais, Nacionais e Internacionais, como: BMC infectious diseases (F.I: 2.8), Journal of the International Association of Providers of AIDS Care, Journal of Homosexuality (FI: 1.827), Journal of AIDS Clinical Research & STDs, AIDS Patient Care and STDs (FI: 3.742), AIDS and Behaviour (FI: 2.908), LGBT Health (FI: 3.307) entre outras da área. Possui produção consolidada, com quase 40 papers publicados em periódicos revisados por pares e indexado nas melhores bases de dados. Como pesquisador atua na linha de pesquisa: Fundamentação teórica, metodológica e tecnológica do processo de cuidar. Tem atuado na área de saúde LGBT, representações sociais, infecção, com ênfase em HIV/aids. Enfermeiro membro da ISfTeH- International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth. Atualmente trabalha em parceria como Fellow da UNITE e Member of the Digital Health da Youth Against AIDS (YAA). É colaborador na Rede IberoAmericana de editoração Científica em Enfermagem (REDEdit) coordenado pelo Centro Colaborador da OMS sediado na EERP.
