Julio Roberto Araujo de Amorim

Graduated in Chemical Technology (1981) and in Agronomy (1986), from the Federal University of Alagoas - UFAL, specialist in Agricultural Land Drainage, from the Companhia de Desenvolvimento dos Vales do São Francisco and Parnaíba - Codevasf and the International Institute for Land Reclamation and Improvement - ILRI and Master in Agricultural Engineering (1994), Water and Soil Engineering area, Irrigation and Drainage subarea, from the Federal University of Paraíba - UFPB, Campina Grande Campus, currently the Federal University of Campina Grande - UFCG. Researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa. Has experience in Agronomy, with emphasis on Water and Soil Management, working mainly on the following topics: water resources; watersheds; water, energy and nutrient management in irrigated systems; efficient use of water; soils affected by salts; plant tolerance to abiotic stresses (salinity and drought); water quality; and environmental management. He is a member of the Local Publication Committee-CLP of Embrapa Coastal Tablelands, from 2003 to the present. Member of the Japaratuba River Basin Committee - CBHJ from 2012 to 2021; member of the State Council of Water Resources of Sergipe - CONERH-SE from 2015 to 2021; member of the State Nucleus of the Freshwater Program from 2007 to 2015 and member of the Focal Group to Combat Desertification of the State of Sergipe from 2008 to 2016.

Tem experiência na área de Agronomia, com ênfase em Manejo de Água e Solo, atuando, principalmente, nos seguintes temas: recursos hídricos; bacias hidrográficas; manejo de água, energia e nutrientes em sistemas irrigados; uso eficiente da água; solos afetados por sais; tolerância de plantas a estresses abióticos (salinidade e seca); qualidade da água; e gestão ambiental. É membro do Comitê Local de Publicação - CLP da Embrapa Tabuleiros Costeiros, desde 2003 até atualmente. Foi membro do Comitê da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Japaratuba - CBHJ de 2012 a 2021; membro do Conselho Estadual de Recursos Hídricos de Sergipe - CONERH-SE de 2015 a 2021; membro do Núcleo Estadual do Programa Água Doce de 2007 a 2015 e membro do Grupo Focal de Combate à Desertificação do Estado de Sergipe de 2008 a 2016.
