Guilherme Martins da Silva

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the State University of Londrina (UEL, 2011), Master in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (IQ-USP, 2016) and PhD in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP, 2023). He completed a Sandwich Doctorate internship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, USA, sponsored by the CAPES-PrInt program (Institutional Program for Internationalization). He also gained industry experience as a research development analyst in the pharmaceutical-cosmetic segment. In the area of education, he worked as an autonomous teacher and obtained additional pedagogical training for a degree in Chemistry. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard Medical School-Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Center for Drug Discovery and Translational Research (Boston, MA, USA). He has been working for over 8 years in the research lines of Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Molecular Modeling, Cheminformatics and Computer-Assisted Drug Discovery. He received a 1st place award in the BioSolveIT Scientific Challenge in 2022. He has 2 other awards, in addition to 15 articles, 5 book chapters, 10 posters, 4 lectures and participation in more than 30 scientific events. He is interested in the development and application of computational methods for the discovery of bioactive compounds with therapeutic potential, as well as in the investigation of the respective mechanisms of action and their structure-activity relationships.

Graduado em Química Bacharelado pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL, 2011), Mestre em Química pela Universidade de São Paulo (IQ-USP, 2016) e Doutor em Química pela Universidade de São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP, 2023). Realizou estágio de Doutorado Sanduíche pela University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, EUA, com fomento do programa CAPES-PrInt (Programa Institucional de Internacionalização). Adquiriu ainda experiência na indústria como analista de pesquisa desenvolvimento no segmento farmacêutico-cosmético. Na área de educação atuou como professor autônomo e obteve formação pedagógica complementar de licenciatura em Química. Atualmente é Pesquisador de Pós-Doutorado na Harvard Medical School - Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - Center for Drug Discovery and Translational Research (Boston, MA, EUA). Atua há mais de 8 anos nas linhas de pesquisa de Química Orgânica, Química Medicinal, Modelagem Molecular, Quiminformática e Computer-Assisted Drug Discovery. Recebeu prêmio de 1o lugar no Scientific Challenge da BioSolveIT em 2022. Possui outras 2 premiações, em adição de 15 artigos, 5 capítulos de livros, 10 pôsteres, 4 palestras e participação em mais de 30 eventos científicos. Tem interesse no desenvolvimento e aplicação de métodos computacionais para a descoberta de compostos bioativos com potencial terapêutico, bem como na investigação dos respectivos mecanismos de ação e de suas relações estrutura-atividade.
