RUI MACHADO

Graduado em Medicina Veterinária pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (1986) com mestrado em Animal Sciences - University of Illinois (1993), aperfeiçoamento em fecundação in vitro pela The University of Georgia (2000) e doutorado em Medicina Veterinária na área de reprodução animal pela Universidade de São Paulo (2005). Pesquisador científico da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária desde 1987 com experiência em fisiologia e farmacologia da reprodução, manejo reprodutivo e em biotécnicas avançadas da reprodução assistida em ruminantes de interesse comercial. Atuo em: inseminação artificial, andrologia, fecundação in vitro, fisiologia e farmacologia da reprodução, controle da ovulação (indução da ovulação, superovulação, IATF) e redução da mortalidade embrionária e das perdas de prenhez em ruminantes. Bacharel em Direito pelo Centro Universitário Central Paulista (2014). Detenho experiência em gestão de pesquisa, CT e TT. Na Embrapa Caprinos fui supervisor da área de Produção Animal. Na Embrapa Pecuária Sudeste fui Supervisor da área de Difusão, Transferência de Tecnologia e Sócio economia, Chefe Adjunto de PD e Secretário Executivo do Comitê Técnico Interno em diferentes períodos entre 2006 e 2009. Exerci a Chefia Geral de 20/01/2014 a 31/08/2021. Fui conselheiro representante do Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento no Concea - Conselho Nacional de Experimentação Animal do MCTIC de 02/07/2014 até 02/07/2018. Fui membro conselheiro da da FAI-UFSCar e da Fundação ParqTec (2014-2021). Sou membro do Conselho Empresarial Brasil-China(2021-presente). Fui reconhecido com diversos prêmios (destaque: Regent's Award pela The University of Georgia_ 2000) e homenagens (destaque: Cientista Emérito pela Sec.CT de São Carlos_2021).

I earned my Veterinary Medicine degree at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (1986). My graduate studies resulted in a Masters in Animal Sciences at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (1993) and Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Medicine at Universidade de São Paulo (2005). My research experience has focused on reproductive physiology of ruminants, mainly on: artificial insemination, andrology, in vitro fertilization, pharmacology of reproduction, estrus and ovulation control, as well as the reduction of pregnancy and early embryonic losses. I also have a degree in Law School (2014).I have experience in management of RD. In the Embrapa Caprinos I supervised the Animal Production Department. Later on I supervised the technology transfer and social-economy department of Embrapa Pecuaria Sudeste. In this Research Institution I was the Executive Secretary of Technical Affairs and Research Manager in different periods between 2006 and 2009, as well as the General Manager (20/01/2014 to 31/08/2021). I represented the Agriculture Ministry in the Brazilian Council of Animal Experimentation and was a member of the counselling committees of FAI-UFSCar and Parqtec foundations. I am a member of the Brasil-China Commercial Board (2021-preent). I was distinguished with the Regent's Award (The University of Georgia _ 2000) and received the Emeritus Scientist' title from the Secretary of Sciences and Technology of São Carlos (2021).
