Renato Luiz Guerino Cunha

Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Uberlândia (2004). Residency in Internal Medicine at the Clinical Hospital of Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Uberlândia (2007). Clinical Fellow in Hematology (2009), and Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy (2010) at the Clinical Hospital of Ribeirão Preto Medical School of University of São Paulo. Ph.D. in Internal Medicine, at the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto Medical School and Ph.D. in Cell Therapy and Biotechnology, at the University of Paris-Diderot (Paris VII, Paris-France, 2014). Postdoctoral Fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy at the National Cancer Institute (ETIB-NCI / NHI) in Bethesda, USA (2015-2018). Member of the Brazilian Society of Bone Marrow Transplant (2009), the American College Physician (2015), the American Society of Hematology (2016) and, the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (2020). Currently, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Head of the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy Unit at the Clinical Hospital of Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (BMT-HCFMRPUSP). In 2018 was awarded the ASH Global Research Award and in 2019, performed the first car t-cell treatment in Latin America in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. In 2021, he coordinated the Brazilian Consensus for Genetically Modified Cells by the Brazilian Association of Hematology, Hemotherapy and Cellular Therapy (ABHH). In October 2022 he assumed the national leadership of cellular therapy at Grupo Oncoclíncas, in São Paulo.

Doutor em Clinica Médica pela Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo e doutor em Terapia Celular e Biotecnologia pela Universidade de Paris-Diderot (Paris VII, Paris-França, 2014). Pós-doutorado em Transplante de Medula Óssea e Terapia Celular pelo National Cancer Institute (ETIB-NCI/NHI) em Bethesda, EUA (2015-2018). Desde 2019 é Professor Doutor da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo (FMRP-USP) e Coordenador da Unidade de Transplante de Medula Óssea e Terapia Celular do HC-FMRP-USP. Membro da Sociedade Brasileira de Transplante de Medula Óssea (2009), Associação Brasileira de Hematologia e Hemoterapi (2009), American College Physician (2015), American Society of Hematology (2016) e American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (2020). Em 2018 recebeu o prêmio ASH Global Research Award e, em 2019 realizou o primeiro tratamento com células CAR T da América Latina, em Ribeirão Preto-Brasil. Em 2021, coordenou o Consenso Brasileiro para Células Geniticamente Modificadas pela Associação Brasileira de Hematologia e Hemoterapia (ABHH). Em Outubro de 2022 assumiu a liderança nacional de terapia celular do Grupo Oncoclíncas em São Paulo.
