BSc in agricultural engineering at University of Campinas (1985), Brazil, MsC in Agricultural Engineering at University of Campinas (1988) and PhD in Applied Remote Sensing at Cranfield University (1992), England. Full professor at the School of Agricultural Engineering of the University of Campinas. Has worked as senior scientist at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission (Ispra, Italy). Has experience in Agricultural Engineering, focusing on geotechnologies, with interest on the following subjects: remote sensing, GIS, agricultural mapping and monitoring, crop yield estimates, environmental monitoring, land use change, crop-livestock-forestry integrated systems.
Graduado em Engenharia Agrícola pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1985), mestre em Engenharia Agrícola pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1988) e PhD em "Applied Remote Sensing" - Cranfield University, Inglaterra (1992). É professor titular da Universidade Estadual de Campinas desde 1999. Trabalhou como cientista sênior no "Joint Research Center (JRC)", da Comissão Européia, em Ispra, Itália, entre 2004 e 2006. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Agrícola, com ênfase em Geotecnologias, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: sensoriamento remoto, sistema de informações geográficas, mapeamento e monitoramento de culturas e previsão de safras, monitoramento ambiental, mudança de uso da terra e sistemas integrados lavoura-pecuária-floresta.
