Antenor Pereira Barbosa

Graduated in Forestry by the Federal Rural University of Amazonia (1976), Master of Science in Tropical Forests by the National Institute of Amazonian Research (1985) and Ph.D. in Agronomy (Phytotechny) by Federal University of Lavras (1995). He is Senior Researcher at the National Reserch Institute of Amazon and Collaborating Professor of Tropical Forest Sciences course (CFT/INPA) . Has experience in Forest Resources and Forest Engineering on Afforestation and Reforestation, working mainly in seedling production in the nursery, by seeds and cuttings, plantations for forest production to timber industry and to recover degraded areas by extensive livestock and shifting agriculture with native species of Amazon region and production of essential oils by steam distillation.

Possui graduação em Engenharia Florestal pela Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia (1976), mestrado em Ciências de Florestas Tropicais pelo Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (1985) e doutorado em Agronomia (Fitotecnia) pela Universidade Federal de Lavras (1995). Atualmente é pesquisador titular do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia e Professor colaborador do curso Ciências de Florestas Tropicais (CFT/INPA). Tem experiência na área de Recursos Florestais e Engenharia Florestal, com ênfase em Florestamento e Reflorestamento, atuando principalmente nas áreas de produção de mudas em viveiro por sementes e estaquia, plantios florestais de produção para a indústria madeireira e para recuperação de áreas degradadas pela pecuária extensiva e pela agricultura itinerante com espécies nativas da Amazônia e produção de óleos essenciais por arraste a vapor.
