Lis Furlani Blanco

Doutora em Antropologia Social (PPGAS) pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas, bolsista FAPESP, com pesquisa na área de antropologia das políticas públicas, alimentação e estudos sociais da ciência. É Bacharela em Ciências Sociais e Antropologia e Licenciada em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP, Brasil. Foi bolsista FAPESP de Iniciação Científica e de Mestrado, título que obteve pela mesma universidade, com um projeto que abrange questões relacionadas à Antropologia Urbana e Alimentação. Foi pesquisadora visitante no Observatório da Alimentação na Universidade de Barcelona, em 2013 e 2014 e pesquisadora visitante na Universidade da Califórnia Berkeley, em 2018 e 2019. Participa do grupo do Núcleo de Etnografia Urbana do Cebrap e foi editora chefe da Revista PROA - Antropologia e Artes. Também foi Coordenadora de projetos sócio-ambientais no Instituto de Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Ambiente Total e da TEIA e atua como consultora de pesquisas relacionadas à consumo, alimentação e políticas públicas com enfoque em análises qualitativas e etnográficas.

I have a bachelor degree in Social Sciences at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), where I also had my master degree in Social Anthropology at the Social Anthropology Graduate Program. I have done an academic interchange at the University of Lund, Sweden and during my master course I was also a visiting researcher at the Food Observatory (Odela) at the University of Barcelona, Spain. During my academic trajectory I have participated in different research projects related to the theme of Labour and Labour Flexibilization, but also Poverty and Development and Food in a context of precarity. I am member of the Editorial Board of the PROA Magazine and I have been an intern at the Teaching Internship Program at Unicamp in which I have been teaching ?Science, Technology and Society? to the Engineering Courses and in which I was also a tutor at the ?Introduction of Anthropology? course. Additionally to the academic experiences, I have working experiences in NGO?s related to development programs and housing assistance. I have a PhD on Social Anthropology. With a scholarship on the theme of public policies and more specifically public policies related to Food, Hunger and Food Security, aiming thus to comprehend the interactions between people, politics, and objects. I have been developing an ethnography of the Food Security policies throughout the analysis of the trajectory of the Hunger Zero Program in Brazil. Going through the technpolitical knowledge interwoven on the creation of these public policies, it is the objective of my research to understand how ?hunger? is enacted and, in this process, it creates subjects and puts into circulation important categories such as rights, assistance, vulnerability, social welfare, but also the definition and the enactment of State itself.
