Luiz Henrique Silva Moreira

I am a PhD student in Ancient History at the Federal University of Paraná. Additionally, I have attained a Master's degree in Ancient History from the same institution, with my thesis concentrating on the Peripatetic Lyceum and the Alexandrian Athens, which I referred to as the Athens ruled by Alexander the Great and Demetrius from Phalero. In this study, I conducted an analysis of the intellectual output of the Peripatetic school under Macedonian hegemony. In my ongoing doctoral research, I delve into the intricate relationship between the poets associated with the Alexandrian Museum and their portrayal of Ptolemy's project of power. Additionally, I am also a historian and history teacher, having obtained a History degree from the State University of Paraná. I am a member of the research groups NEMED (Mediterranean Studies Center) and Cultura e Poder (Culture and Power). My research interests encompass various focal points, including the examination of significant milestones in the Hellenistic era, such as the onset and conclusion of this period. Furthermore, I have dedicated my scholarly pursuits to investigating the diverse facets of Hellenistic culture, particularly within the domains of literature and philosophy, as well as understanding the power structures that characterized the Hellenistic world.
