Sonia Groisman

Graduated in Dentistry from Universidade Federal Fluminense (1984), specialization in Periodontics from UFRJ, Periodontics, Cariology and Public Health from University of Lund, Malmo-Sweden; Specialization in Radiology from UFRJ, Masters in Dentistry (Social Dentistry) from Universidade Federal Fluminense (1989) and PhD in Dentistry (Social Dentistry) from Universidade Federal Fluminense (1995). I was the Oral Health Coordinator of the Municipality of Nitroi, Rio de Janeiro for 4 years, leaving there to occupy the position of professor at UFRJ, by public contest. He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She was a collaborator for the Regional Council of Dentistry for 10 years as President of the Public Policies Commission in Oral Health. She was a member of the Board of Directors and later President of ABOPREV (Brazilian Association of Preventive Dentistry), I was academic director - PRÓ-ODONTO Prevention, of the Brazilian Dental Association; supervisor of master's and doctoral theses at AMERICAN WORLD UNIVERSITY. After the senior dental leadership course (Boston, 2015), Harvard Dental School together with King Colledge of London, I won the award (Tony Volpi) for the best researcher in health promotion in underserved areas, I was invited to be the UFRJ representative at the Alliance For Oral Health Across Borders and currently a member of the Grant Committee of 5 thousand dollars for programs of prevention in underserved areas around the world. I am a member of the oral health team - World Federation Of Public Health Associations; representative and consultant - Global Child Dental Fund and elected representative of latin america on oral health inequalities, by vote for the International Association for Dental Research. I am the Coordinator of the Specialization in Public and Family Health at the Faculty of Dentistry at UFR, Coordinator of the Extension Projects of the Use of Diplomacy for Health Promotion and Occupational Health Promotion; Has experience in Dentistry, with emphasis on Social and Preventive Dentistry, working mainly on the following topics: oral health, cariology, health promotion, caries disease, maternal and child dentistry and in a multiprofessional way.

Fui por 10 anos colaboradora do Conselho Regional de Odontologia, como Presidente da Comissão de Políticas Públicas em Saúde Oral. Fui Membro da Diretoria e depois Presidente da ABOPREV (Associação Brasileira de odontologia Preventiva). Fui Diretora Acadêmica - PRÓ-ODONTO Prevenção, da Associação Brasileira de Odontologia. Orientei teses de Mestrado e Doutorado da AMERICAN WORLD UNIVERSITY. Após o Curso de Senior Dental Leadership (Boston,2015), Faculdade de Odontologia de Harvard, em Conjunto com a King Colledge of London, ganhei o prêmio (Tony Volpi) de melhor pesquisadora em promoção da Saúde em áreas carentes. Fui convidada a ser a representante da UFRJ na Alliance For Oral Health Across Borders e atualmente Membro do Comitê do Grant de 5 mil dólares para programas de prevenção em áreas carentes, no mundo. Sou Membro da Equipe de Saúde Oral - World Federation Of Public Health Associations; representante e consultora - Global Child Dental Fund e eleita representante da America Latina para desigualdades de saúde bucal, por votação para a International Association for Dental Research. Sou Coordenadora da Especialização em Saúde Coletiva e da Família da Faculdade de Odontologia da UFRJ. Coordenadora dos Projetos de Extensão do Uso da Diplomacia para Promoção de Saúde e Promoção de Saúde do Trabalhador. Tem experiência na área de Odontologia, com ênfase em Odontologia Social e Preventiva, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: saúde bucal, cariologia, promoção de saúde, doença cárie, odontologia materno-infantil e de forma multiprofissional. Atualmente é Professora Titular Aposentada da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
