PAULO SANTOS DE ALMEIDA concluiu o doutoramento em Direito das Relações Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo em 2006. Advogado e consultor jurídico-ambiental em São Paulo/SP. Professor Doutor na Escola de Artes, Ciências e Humanidades (EACH) da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), onde leciona e orienta no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sustentabilidade (PPG-SUS) e no curso de Bacharelado em Gestão Ambiental e Ciclo Básico, com as disciplinas: Política Ambiental, Direito Ambiental e Resolução de Problemas - Problem Based Learning -GA (RP-GA) e Sociedade Meio Ambiente e Cidadania, respectivamente. Pesquisador-Líder do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Cidade, Sustentabilidade e Gestão Ambiental (CIDSGAM) certificado junto ao CNPq. Pesquisador do Grupo de Estudos de Planejamento e Gestão Ambiental (PLANGEA-USP). Durante Janeiro de 2014 a Janeiro de 2015 desenvolveu programa de Pós-doutorado como Visiting Scholar na University of California, San Diego (UCSD), no ILAR (Laboratory of International Law and Regulation) da IR/PS (School of International Relations and Pacific Studies), auxílio de bolsa de pós-doutoramento pela CAPES-Brasil; de Março de 2023 a Agosto de 2023 desenvolveu projeto de pós-doutorado como Visitor Professor na University of New Mexico, junto ao CPR (Center of Participatory Research) do College of Population Health (COPH), com auxílio de bolsa de pós-doutoramento pelo PRINT-USP/CAPES-Brasil. Foi membro efetivo da Comissão de Sustentabilidade e Meio Ambiente; Comissão de Resíduos Sólidos e membro consultor da Comissão de Ciência e Tecnologia, todas da OABSP. Ex-Diretor Executivo e Presidente da Fundação para a Conservação e a Produção Florestal do Estado de São Paulo (Fundação Florestal). Ex-Assessor Técnico da Superintendência de Gestão Ambiental da Universidade de São Paulo (SGA-USP). Em sua contextualização de produção científica os temas frequentes são: sustentabilidade, ambiente cultural, direito processual ambiental, resíduos, pagamentos por serviços ambientais, mudanças climáticas, os direitos dos animais, o direito à cidade sustentável e os Direitos Humanos.

PAULO SANTOS DE ALMEIDA has graduate (PhD) in Social Relations Law by Pontificia Universidade Catolica of São Paulo, 2006 (PUC-SP), Environmental Law consultant and Lawyer in São Paulo/SP., and Assistant Professor in the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (EACH) of the University of São Paulo (USP) where he teaches Environmental Law in Environmental Management´s undergraduate, and Public Policy in Sustainability´s program graduate. He leads researchers on Research Group on Sustainable Cities and Environmental management (CIDSGAM) certificate by the CNPq-Brazil; also he is Researcher in the Study Group of Planning and Environmental Management (PLANGEA-USP). He was a member of the sustainability and Environment Commission, Waste Solid Commission, also member consultant for the Commission on Science and Technology, all of OABSP (Brazilian BAR). In Jan. 2014-2015 developed his postdoctoral as visiting scholar at University of California, San Diego (UCSD), the ILAR (Laboratory of International Law and Regulation) of the IR/PS (School of International Relations and Lenoir Studies) with post-doctoral fellowship by CAPES-Brazil; From March 2023 to August 2023, he developed a postdoctoral project as a Visitor Professor at the University of New Mexico, together with the CPR (Center of Participatory Research) of the College of Population Health (COPH), with the aid of a postdoctoral scholarship from the PRINT-USP/CAPES-Brazil. Former Executive Director and President (CEO) of the Foundation for Conservation and Forest Production of the State of São Paulo (Forest Foundation), and also Former Technical Advisor of the Environmental Management Superintendence of the University of Sao Paulo (SGA-USP).Publishes articles in journals, scholarly works oriented scientific initiation in the field of environmental law and their interfaces. their contextualization of scientific production the frequent themes are: sustainability, cultural environment, education, consumer relations, Environmental Law, legal and environmental indicators, residuals, payments for environmental services, climate change, animal rights, sustainable city, and Human Rights.
