Tatiane Medeiros Melo
Dr. Tatiane Medeiros Melo coordinates the department of research and development of the agriculture department at carbonauten GmbH. She also worked as post-hoc at the Department of Soil- and Groundwater-Management at the University of Wuppertal, Germany. Her academic background is multidisciplinary and covers environmental science with focus on treatment and reduction of waste. Her main research is on the use of value-added products such as biochar, evaluating the biogeochemistry of trace elements in wetland soils. She published 4 scientific paper in leading international journals. She is also serving as reviewer for leading international journals, such as Environmental Pollution, Chemosphere and Biochar. She participated in several scientific international events, such as Biochar Summit 2023, Travelling University (between Brazil and Germany), No Waste Project within the Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Scheme within the EUs Seventh Framework Programme (among Germany, Finland, France, Morocco, Brazil and China). She organized symposiums, such as the Sino-German Scientific-Symposium at the Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld, Hochschule Trier in Germany and a conference with 100 delegates for scholarship bodies from Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). During her PhD she got scholarship from FES and was for one year representative of the FES-PhD scholarship holders on an honorary basis. Before her academic career she worked in the private sector and won two awards related to the environmental management and corporate social responsibility in Brazil: Goiás Environmental Management Award and Value Ethos Award 9th Edition. She also accumulated almost 10 years experience as civil servant in Brazil.
graduation at Tecnologia Em Gestão Ambiental from Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Goiás (2005) and master's at Engineering from Universidade Federal de Goiás (2009). Has experience in Sanitary Engineering, focusing on Quality of Air, Waters and the Ground, acting on the following subjects: educação ambiental, resíduos de construção e demolição, desenvolvimento sustentável, construção civil and gerenciamento de resíduos.
