Pedro Emiliano Paro Filho

Pedro Emiliano Paro Filho was born in Araçatuba, Brazil, in 1984. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas, Brazil, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Pedro Paro joined IDEA Electronic Systems as a design engineer in 2009, working on (de)modulators for the ISDB-T standard. In 2010, he was an intern at the Interuniversity Micro-Electronic Centre (IMEC), Belgium, investigating sustaining amplifier topologies for MEMS-based oscillators. In 2016, Pedro obtained his PhD degree with highest honors from IMEC and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), for his research on charge-based transmitter architectures. His most significant research contribution includes the validation and implementation of an innovative digital transmitter architecture, with unique noise filtering capabilities. He received the ISSCC 2015 Jan Van Vessem Award for Outstanding European Paper, granted IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society. His interests involve different aspects of RF transceivers design, including reconfigurable front-ends, low power radios and frequency synthesis.
