Danilo Silva

Danilo Silva received the B.Sc. degree from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Recife, Brazil, in 2002, the M.Sc. degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, in 2009, all in electrical engineering. From 2009 to 2010, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto, at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). In 2010, he joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests include machine learning, computer vision, signal processing, and its applications.

Possui graduação em Engenharia Elétrica / Eletrônica pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2002), mestrado em Engenharia Elétrica pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (2005) e doutorado em Engenharia Elétrica pela University of Toronto (2009). Atualmente é Professor Associado da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Seus interesses de pesquisa incluem aprendizado de máquina, visão computacional, processamento de sinais, e suas aplicações.
