Ricardo Ângelo Rosa Vardasca

Graduado em Tecnologias de Informação pela Universidade de Glamorgan (Reino Unido) em 2005, grau reconhecido e registrado em Portugal pela Universidade do Porto, e em Engenharia Informática - Redes e Sistemas de Comunicação pelo Instituto Politécnico de Leiria em 2006. Em 2010 obteve doutoramento em Informática Médica (Termografia) pela Universidade de Glamorgan (Reino Unido), grau reconhecido e registrado em Portugal pela Universidade do Porto.De 2006 a 2009 foi docente do ensino superior no departamento de ciências matemáticas e da computação na faculdade de tecnologia avançada da Universidade de Glamorgan (Reino Unido). De 2009 a 2011 foi docente do ensino superior no Instituto Politécnico de Leiria tendo inciado como professor assistente e terminado como professor adjunto convidado, em 2011 foi membro do conselho científico da Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão e diretor do curso de especialização tecnológica de Instalação e Manutenção de Redes e Serviços. Em 2010 foi docente convidado da unidade curricular de Processamento de Sinal e Imagem no Mestrado de Informática Médica na Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto. De 2011 a 2012 foi bolseiro de investigação de Pós-Doutoramento na Escola de Engenharia da Universidade do Minho na área de Ambient Assisted Living. Em Junho de 2012 voltou à Universidade de Glamorgan, atualmente University of South Wales (Reino Unido) como investigador visitante. Desde Janeiro de 2013 que é bolseiro de investigação de Pós-Doutoramento na FEUP em Termografia e Biometria móvel.Co-organizador da Conferência EAT2012 que decorreu na FEUP de 5-8 Setembro de 2012. É membro do grupo editorial das revistas cientificas: Thermology International, International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications and COMPUSOFT - International Journal of Advanced Computer Technology. Revisor da Infrared Physics and Technology Journal, Neuroscience, QIRT journal e PLOS ONE.Membro da direção da European Association of Thermology,membro associado da British Computer Society (Health Informatics group), membro honorário vitalício da Associação Brasileira de Termologia, membro da Royal Photographic Society (Imaging Science group), do Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine e da Associação Portuguesa de Informática Médica.

Graduated with B.Sc. degree in Information Technology from the University of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom, and the B.Sc. and Licenciate degrees in computer engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Leiria, Portugal, in 2006, and the Ph.D. degree in Medical Informatics from the University of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom, in 2010. Both British academic degrees are registered and recognised in Portugal by the University of Porto.From 2006 to 2009, he was a Lecturer with the Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Advanced Technology, University of Glamorgan. From 2009 to 2011, he was a Lecturer with the Department of Computer Engineering, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, where he started as an Assistant Professor and later Invited Associated Professor. From September 2011 to August 2012 he has been involved in the research on ambient assisted living technologies at the School of Engineering at University of Minho. In June 2012 returned to the University of Glamorgan, actually University of South Wales, as Visiting Research Fellow at Medical Imaging Research Unit, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science. Since January 2013 he joined the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto researching in clinical thermography and mobile biometrics.Co-chair of the EAT2012 conference at Porto, from 5th to 8th September 2012.Member of the Editorial Board of Thermology International, International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications and COMPUSOFT - International Journal of Advanced Computer Technology.
