Fred Luciano Neves Santos

He holds a degree in Pharmacy-Biochemistry from the Federal College of Bahia, a Master's degree in Human Pathology from the same institution, and a PhD in Biosciences and Biotechnology in Health from Fiocruz-PE. Currently, he works as a researcher at the Gonçalo Moniz Institute (IGM, Fiocruz- BA), focusing on identifying diagnostic biomarkers for infectious-parasitic diseases. Moreover, he serves as a permanent professor for the Postgraduate Course in Biotechnology in Public Health and Investigative Medicine (Concept 6) at the Gonçalo Moniz Institute, with expertise in developing diagnostic tools for pathogen identification. Additionally, he holds the position of coordinator for the Translational Research Program for Chagas Diseases - Fio-Chagas.

Possui graduação em Farmácia-Bioquímica pela Universidade Federal da Bahia e mestrado em Patologia Humana pela Universidade Federal da Bahia e doutorado em Biociências e Biotecnologia em Saúde pela Fiocruz-PE. Atualmente é Pesquisador do Instituto Gonçalo Moniz (IGM, Fiocruz-BA), onde vem se dedicando a estudos sobre a busca de biomardores diagnósticos de doenças infecto-parasitárias. Docente permanente do curso de Pós-Graduação em Biotecnologia em Saúde e Medicina Investigativa (conceito 6) do Instituto Gonçalo Moniz, sendo responsável pela disciplina Desenvolvimento de Ferramentas Diagnósticas para Identificação de Patógenos. Coordenador Grupo de Pesquisa Interdisciplinar em Biotecnologia e Epidemiologia de Doenças Infecciosas (GRUPIBE). Atualmente é coordenador do Programa de Pesquisa Translacional em Doenças de Chagas (Fio-Chagas).
