Luiz Alberto Nicolaci da Costa
Bachelor's in Physics from Brandeis University (1974), master's at Physics from Brandeis University (1974) and doctorate in Physics from Harvard University (1979). Has experience in Astronomy, focusing on Galaxies, acting on the following subjects: cosmology, large-scaledistribution of galaxies, cluster of galaxiesand peculiar motions.
Possui graduação em Física - Brandeis University (1974), tendo cursado o Ciclo Básico na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1970-1971), mestrado em Física - Brandeis University (1974) e doutorado em Física - Harvard University (1979). Guggenheim Fellow (1992). Atualmente é pesquisador colaborador do Observatório Nacional (ON). Tem experiência na área de Astronomia, com ênfase em astronomia extragaláctica e cosmologia observacional. Participa como representante brasileiro nos projetos: Dark Energy Survey (DES) , Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). É o Diretor do Laboratório Interinstitucional de e-Astronomia (LIneA) e coordenador do INCT do e-Universo
