Maria Helena de Oliveira Sampa

Ms Sampa holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry, a master's degree and a doctorate in nuclear technology from the University of São Paulo. She is currently a technical reviewer of the International Journal of Radiation Physics and Chemistry, member of the technical committee - Low Radiation International Center, member of the editorial committee - International Journal of Low Radiation, senior consultant of IAEA-International Atomic Energy Agency, senior consultant of the National Commission of Nuclear Energy and senior consultant of IPEN-Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research. She has experience in Nuclear Engineering, with emphasis on IONIZING RADIATION, working mainly on the following topics: industrial electron accelerators, degradation of organic compounds, treatment of industrial effluents, applications of ionizing radiation and advanced oxidation processes and preservation of art objects.IAEA consultant for the area of ​​applications of ionizing radiation in industry, environment, preservation and decontamination of papers and art objects and implantation of industrial and research irradiators. She also is the Consultant of the Technical Cooperation Program of the IAEA as a member of the "Quality Review Team" for the purpose of analyzing the projects sent to the Agency and also for the elaboration of the Regional Strategic Profile (PER) of the ARCAL-program for Latin America to monitor, elaborate and implement regional projects for the area of ​​industry and the environment.

Possui graduação em Química, mestrado e doutorado em Tecnologia Nuclear pela Universidade de São Paulo. Atualmente é revisora técnica - International Journal of Radiation Physics and Chemistry, membro do comitê técnico - Low Radiation International Center, membro do comitêeditorial - International Journal of Low Radiation, consultora sênior da IAEA-International Atomic Energy Agency, consultora sênior da CNEN- Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear e consultora sênior do IPEN-Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Nuclear, com ênfase em RADIAÇÃO IONIZANTE, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: aceleradores industriais de elétrons, degradação de compostos orgânicos, tratamento de efluentes industriais, aplicações da radiação ionizante e processos de oxidação avançada, descontaminação de papéis e preservação de objetos e obras de arte. Consultora da IAEA para a área de aplicações da radiação ionizante na indústria, meio ambiente, preservação e descontaminação de papéis e obras de arte e implantação de irradiadores industriais e de pesquisa. Atua também na área de Cooperação Técnica (Technical Cooperation Programme) da IAEA como membro do grupo ?Quality Review Team? com a finalidade de analisar os projetos enviados à Agencia e também para a elaboração do PER (Perfil Regional Estratégico) do programa ARCAL-América Latina para acompanhamento, elaboração e implantação dos projetos regionais para a área de indústria e meio ambiente.
