Adele Schwartz Benzaken
Medical degree from the Federal University of Amazonas (1978) and doctorate in Public Health - FIOCRUZ / National School of Public Health (2009). Director of the Foundation for Tropical Dermatology and Venereology "Alfredo da Matta in Manaus from 2007 to 2010. Official of the National Program of UNAIDS / Brazil from April 2011 to October 2013 in Brasilia, Deputy Director (2013-2016) and later Director of the Department of STI / HIV-AIDS and Viral Hepatitis of the Health Surveillance Secretariat of the Ministry of Health from June 2016 to January 2019. Cochair of the "WHO Strategic and Technical Advisory Committee on HIV and Viral Hepatitis(STAC-HIVHEP) 2017-2020. Currently a member of PAHO-Organization's certification committee for the elimination of syphilis and HIV Pan American Health Organization, and cochair of UNAIDS / Steering Committee of the 2025 target setting and 2020-2030 resource needs and impact estimation. Regional Director for Latin America for International Union Against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI) and member of the board for International Society for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Research (ISSTDR). Full-time affiliation with the Aids Healthcare Foundation-AHFas Senior Medical Director for the Global Program
Possui graduação em Medicina pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (1978) e doutorado em Saúde Pública - FIOCRUZ / Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública (2009). Diretora da Fundação de Dermatologia Tropical e Venereologia "Alfredo da Matta? em Manaus no período 2007 a 2010. Oficial do Programa Nacional do UNAIDS/Brasil no período de abril de 2011 a outubro de 2013 em Brasilia. Diretora Adjunta(2013-2016) e posteriormente Diretora do departamento de IST/HIV-Aids e Hepatites Virais da Secretaria de Vigilância em Saúde do Ministério da Saúde período de junho de 2016 a janeiro de 2019. Vice presidente do comitê de especialistas da OMS- Organização Mundial de Saúde- "WHO Strategic and Technical Advisory Committee on HIV and Viral Hepatitis(STAC-HIVHEP) no periodo de 2017-2021. Membro do comitê de certificação da eliminação da sífilis e do HIV da OPAS-Organização Pan-Americana de Saúde? de 2016-2021.Vice-presidente do "Steering committee of the 2025 target setting and 2020-2030 resource needs and impact estimation? do UNAIDS/Genebra de 2019 a 2021. Diretora Regional para America Latina da International Union Against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI), membro da diretoria da International Society for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Research (ISSTDR), Trabalha atualmente para a Aids Healthcare Foundation-AHF- como Diretora Medica do Programa Global e como diretora da FIOCRUZ Amazonia;
