Primeiro médico do mundo a publicar estudo em realidade aumentada no diagnóstico e tratamento médico (VeinViewer 2005). Criador do Score 9-1 para classificação de varizes, premiado pela American College of Phlebology, 2008.. Graduado em Medicina pela Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (1990), Residência Médica em Cirurgia Geral no Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (1991-1992), Residência Médica em Angiologia e Cirurgia Vascular no Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (1993-1994), e doutorado em Cirurgia com linha de pesquisa em laser em Flebologia de Angiologia e Cirurgia Vascular pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (1999). Creator of the 9-1 Score for the classification of varicose veins, awarded by the American College of Phlebology in 2008. Graduated from the University of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto with a degree in Medicine in 1990 with a residency in General Surgery (1992-1992) and in Angiology and Vascular Surgery (1993-1994) at the Hospital das Clínicas of the University of Medicine of São Paulo. Earned a Doctorate in Surgery with a line of research in the use of lasers in Phlebology and Vascular Surgery by the University of Medicine of São Paulo in 1999. Awarded the Title of Specialist by the Brasilian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery. Honorary member of the Baltic Society of Vascular Surgery in 2017. President of the Brasilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery from 2017 to 2018. President of the Brasilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery from 2019 to 2020. Fellow of the American Society for Laser in Medicine and Surgery from 2001 to 2007. Chairman's Donor Member of the American College of Phlebology from 2005 to 2013.
