Lorena França Reis e Silva

Anthropologist with experience in Amazonian indigenous peoples, especially from the Upper Rio Negro (northwest Amazon). She has dedicated herself to the topics of ethnology, anthropology of food, anthropology of techniques, biodiversity, knowledges and public policies. She graduated in Social Sciences at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with an Erasmus Mundus exchange at the University of Minho in Portugal. She got her master's degree in Sociology and Anthropology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), developing research in the area of visual anthropology. Today she is a PhD Student in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), linked to the Núcleo de Saberes e Saúde Indígena (NESSI). She is also a researcher associated with the Nucleus of Indigenous Amazon Studies (NEAI) at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), where she had a FAPEAM scholarship for technical support (2015-2016) and developed collective work with indigenous anthropologists. She was a PRODOC/UNESCO consultant for the Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) in the State of Amazonas, in the context of the Intangible Cultural Heritage policy, between 2013 and 2016, working with especially the multiethnic groups of Rio Negro.

Antropóloga com experiência de trabalho com povos indígenas amazônicos, especialmente do Alto Rio Negro (noroeste amazônico). Tem se dedicado aos temas da etnologia, antropologia da alimentação, antropologia das técnicas, biodiversidade, saberes e políticas públicas. Fez o doutorado sobre esses temas na Antropologia Social da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC); o mestrado em Sociologia e Antropologia pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) e a graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). É também pesquisadora associada ao Núcleo de Estudos da Amazônia Indígena (NEAI) da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM), onde teve bolsa FAPEAM de apoio técnico (2015-2016) e desenvolveu trabalhos coletivos com antropólogos indígenas. Foi consultora PRODOC/UNESCO para o Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) no Estado do Amazonas, no âmbito da política de Patrimônio Cultural Imaterial, entre 2013 e 2016, trabalhando especialmente com os povos multiétnicos do Rio Negro.
