Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo, has bachelor degree in Physiotherapy from the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar (2000). At the same institution, she obtained the title of Master (2004) and PhD (2008, area: Physiotherapy). During her PhD, she did an internship (Sandwich Doctoral Program - CNPq grant) at the Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory at University of Colorado at Boulder - USA, where she was co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Douglas R. Seals. In that same laboratory, she participated as a "research associate" in a project funded by the National Institute of Health. She is currently an assistant professor of the Gerontology course and advisor of the Graduate Program in Gerontology at the School of Arts, Sciences, and Humanities at the University of São Paulo (EACH | USP). She acted as coordinator of the aforementioned Graduate Program between the years 2018 and 2021, assuming the vice-coordination at the end of her term as coordinator. She started in 2021 a post-doctoral internship in Gerontology in the Post-Graduate Program in Gerontology at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), under the supervision of Profa. Dr. Anita Liberalesso Neri. Also in 2021, she was nominated as Outstanding Graduate in Society, referring to the period of defending her doctoral thesis between 2006 and 2020 in the Postgraduate Program in Physiotherapy at UFSCar, for her professional trajectory and important social contribution. She has experience in the field of Aging, working mainly on the following topics: physical activity, functional physical performance, multidimensional assessment of the older adults, falls, frailty, and long-term care. Mother of three children (twins with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a neurotypical one), she was on maternity leave in 2013 and 2016.
Professora Associada da Universidade de São Paulo, possui graduação em Fisioterapia pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos - UFSCar (2000). Na mesma instituição, obteve o título de mestre (2004) e doutora (2008) em Fisioterapia. Durante o período de doutoramento, realizou estágio (Doutorado "Sandwich" - bolsa SWE/CNPq) no "Integrative Physiology of Aging Laboratory" da "University of Colorado at Boulder - USA", onde foi co-orientada pelo Prof. Dr. Douglas R. Atualmente é docente do curso de Gerontologia e orientadora do Programa de Pós-graduação em Gerontologia da Escola de Artes, Ciências e Humanidades da Universidade de São Paulo (EACH|USP). Atuou como coordenadora do referido Programa de Pós-Graduação entre os anos de 2018 e 2021, assumindo a vice-coordenação ao final do mandato como coordenadora. Em 2021, realizou estágio de pos-doutoramento em Gerontologia no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Gerontologia da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), sob supervisão da Profa. Dra. Anita Liberalesso Neri. Ainda em 2021, foi indicada como Egresso Destaque na Sociedade, referente ao período de defesa de tese de doutorado compreendido entre 2006 a 2020 no Programa de Pós Graduação em Fisioterapia da UFSCar, pela trajetória profissional e importante contribuição social. Tem experiência na área do Envelhecimento, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: atividade física, desempenho-físico funcional, avaliação multidimensional do idoso, quedas, fragilidade e cuidados de longa duração. Mãe de três filhos (gêmeos com Transtorno do Espectro Autista e um neurotípico), esteve em licença maternidade em 2013 e 2016.
