Marine conservation biologist with a PhD in Geography (UFPR), using a multi- and interdisciplinary approach towards the protection of the environment facing anthropogenic threats. My thesis integrated risk and threat assessment of ports with conservation planning, focusing on indicator species (coastal dolphins and marine turtles). I am specialized in Environmental Analysis (UFPR), Environmental Law (UFPR), and obtained an MBA in Environmental Management (UFPR) and hope to bridge the gap between science, policy, management and industry.
In the past I worked and studied in several different universities all over Europe. After the completion of my Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Ghent (Belgium), I started the European Master of Science in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (EMBC+). This is an international Master programme coordinated by the University of Ghent, which is a joint degree of 6 European Universities (University of the Algarve in Portugal, Bremen University in Germany, Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology in Ireland, University Pierre et Marie Curie in France and University of Oviedo in Spain) During this master program I studied and worked at the University of the Algarve in Portugal and the University of Pierre et Marie Curie (Sorbonne University Paris 6, France). During my masters I also did an internship at the Department of Oceanography and Fisheries in the University of the Azores; and a summer internship at the Ecology and Conservation Laboratory (LEC) in the UFPR. My master thesis was conducted at the World Conservation Monitoring Centre of the United Nations Environment Programme (WCMC-UNEP) in Cambridge (UK), which is an executive agency of the United Nations.
