Lucas Navarro Paolucci

I am biologist, MSc in Entomology and PhD in Ecology at the Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil, and I was a visitor PhD student at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia. I was a post-doc researcher for two years associated with the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM), and for one year associated with the The Graduate Program in Applied Ecology at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil. I am currently a professor at the General Biology Department, Federal University of Viçosa, and advice Master and PhD students at the graduate program in Ecology at UFV. I investigate the impacts of human disturbances on biological communities, their interactions and ecosystem functions/services they perform, mainly using experimental field manipulations. I work mainly with the following subjects: animal-plant interactions; biodiversity; community and ecosystem ecology; disturbance ecology; ecosystem functioning. www.ecotrop.ufv.br; lucas.paolucci@ufv.br

Sou Bacharel e Licenciado em Ciências Biológicas, Mestre em Entomologia e Doutor em Ecologia pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), com período sanduíche no Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) - Tropical Ecosystems Research Centre, Austrália. Fui pesquisador em nível de pós-doutorado durante dois anos do Instituto de Pesquisa Ambiental da Amazônia (IPAM) e durante um ano do PPG-Ecologia Aplicada da Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA). Atualmente sou professor adjunto do setor de Ecologia, Departamento de Biologia Geral da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, e oriento nos níveis de mestrado e doutorado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ecologia da UFV. Com minha linha de pesquisa busco entender como distúrbios antrópicos impactam comunidades biológicas, suas interações e os serviços e funções ecossistêmicos que elas desempenham, usando principalmente experimentos manipulativos em campo.
