Eduard Westphal

Bacharel em Química pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2006), recebeu o título de Mestre (2009) e de Doutor (2013) em Química Orgânica pela mesma Universidade. No período de março/2011 a setembro/2012 fez doutorado sanduíche na Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, na cidade de Halle an der Saale, Alemanha. Entre os anos de 2013 e 2016, atuou como pos-doutorando na Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, trabalhando na síntese e caracterização de Cristais Líquidos Funcionalizados. Tem experiência na área de Química com ênfase em Síntese Orgânica, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: síntese orgânica, materiais funcionais, cristais líquidos, luminescência, orgânica eletrônica, heterociclos, fotoisomerização, azo compostos e acilhidrazonas. Entre 2016 e 2019 foi Professor Adjunto A e Pesquisador na Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná - Campus Curitiba. Eduard Westphal received his M.S. degree in 2009 and his Ph.D. in 2013, both in Organic Chemistry under supervision of Prof. Dr. Hugo Gallardo at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. During his Ph.D. he spent 1 year at Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany) working under supervision of Prof. Dr. Carsten Tschierske. Between the years of 2013 and 2016, he was a Post-Doc fellow in Prof. Gallardo?s research group. His current interests lie in organic synthesis, functional materials, liquid crystals, luminescence, organic electronics, heterocycles, photoisomerization and azo compounds. From 2016 to 2019 he was Professor at the Federal University of Technology ? Parana. Currently, he is Professor and Researcher at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Federal University of Santa Catarina). (less)
