IGOR DOS SANTOS GOMES
I am graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Pará (FEM/UFPA). I have experience in characterization and processing of materials, as I have participated in research projects and extension projects, with emphasis on the development of polymeric composite materials reinforced by plant fibers, aiming at sustainability, technological, social and economic development of the Amazon Region. I have master's degree in Mechanical Sciences, in the area of Characterization of Materials and Manufacturing Processes, in the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering (PPGEM/UFPA) and I am a PhD student in Natural Resources Engineering of the Amazon (PRODERNA/UFPA), in the area of Process Engineering, research line Use and Transformation of Natural Resources. I am interested in renewable energy, wind and hydrokinetic turbines. I am an enthusiast of science communication, teaching physics and engineering through project-based learning. In the constant search for the improvement of research and teaching, I worked as substitute professor at the Technology Institue (ITEC), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FEM) of Federal University of Para, where I contributed in the area of applied mechanics and mechanical systems. Besides this, to improve my teaching skills, I am studying physics (EAD) at UFPA/Barcarena. Nowdays, I am in the period of sandwich PhD at the University of Calgary, Canada.
