José Wellington Santos de Vargas

Civil Engineering degree by the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT). Has published on the subjects of foundations, urban infrastructure and urban sustainability. Volunteered for research for two years in the Free Software for Engineering project at the Civil Eng. Dept. of UFMT, under the advisory of Prof. Claudio Cruz Nunes, D.Sc. Had a 10-month internship at a Structural Engineering office (Projectus Eng. & Consult) in Cuiabá-MT, taking part on design projects of steel, reinforced concrete and wood structures. M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering at COPPE/UFRJ, with thesis focused on the study of the soil-structure interaction of anchored bulkheads, under the advisory of Prof. Francisco de Rezende Lopes, Ph.D. Ph.D. in Geotechnics on course at COPPE/UFRJ, also employed as a R&D Engineer at the In-situ Testing Laboratory of the Geotechnics Dept. at COPPE/UFRJ.

Graduado em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso. Possui publicações na área de fundações, infra-estrutura urbana e sustentabilidade urbana. Foi voluntário de Iniciação Científica durante dois anos no projeto de pesquisa Software Livre para Engenharia, do departamento de Engenharia Civil da UFMT, sob a orientação do Prof. D.Sc. Claudio Cruz Nunes. Estagiou no escritório de engenharia estrutural Projectus Engenharia e Consultoria na cidade de Cuiabá-MT no período de maio/2013 a fevereiro/2014, tendo participado de projetos de estruturas em aço, concreto e madeira. Concluiu em julho de 2016 o Mestrado em Geotecnia na COPPE/UFRJ, com dissertação voltada para o estudo da interação solo-estrutura em cortinas de estacas-prancha, sob a orientação do Prof. Ph.D. Francisco de Rezende Lopes. Atualmente cursa Doutorado em Geotecnia na COPPE/UFRJ e é engenheiro pesquisador no Laboratório de Ensaios de Campo e Instrumentação Prof. Marcio Miranda Soares - COPPE/UFRJ.
