Nayara Ingrid de Medeiros

Graduated in Pharmacy at Newton Paiva University (2013), master degree in Cell Biology at Federal University of Minas Gerais (2015), and Ph.D. in Health Sciences, Cellular and Molecular Biology area, at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ / MG). Received the 2015 SBI Researcher Award from the Brazilian Society of Immunology (SBI) in the Young Talent Category. In 2019, received recognition from the Gender Equity Committee of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) and the American Association of Immunologists (AAI). Currently, developing a post-doctoral residency at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and at FIOCRUZ/MG, which it evaluates IL-1β activation pathways and their relationship with the clinical outcome from the perspective of fibrosis and inflammation in Chagas' heart disease and immune response in COVID-19.

Graduou-se em Farmácia pelo Centro Universitário Newton Paiva (2013), mestre em Biologia Celular pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2015) e doutora em Ciências da Saúde, area de concentração Biologia Celular e Molecular, pela Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ/MG) (2019). Recebeu da Sociedade Brasileira de Imunologia (SBI) o Prêmio Pesquisador SBI 2015 na Categoria Jovem Talento. Recebeu reconhecimento do Comitê de Equidade de Gênero da International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) e da American Association of Immunologists (AAI) em 2019. Atualmente desenvolve residência pós-doutoral no departamento de Morfologia da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais e na FIOCRUZ/MG em que avalia vias de ativação da IL-1β e sua relação com o desfecho clínico sob a perspectiva da fibrose e inflamação na cardiopatia chagásica e a resposta imune na COVID-19.
