Leandro Espíndola

He holds a Masters Degree (2012) and a PhD (2017) in Chemistry, with emphasis in ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, by the Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC, located in Florianópolis - SC, Brazil. Developed part of the doctorate (Sandwich doctorate) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), acting mainly in the synthesis of new substituted pyridines from the cycloaddition reactions. In addition, he has a BACHARELADO (2009) and LICENCIATURA (2010) degree in CHEMISTRY, by UFSC. Worked as substitute professor of the chemistry department of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. During the years of 2020 and 2021, he worked as a research assistant at the Silesian University of Technology in the city of Gliwice, Poland, working on the synthesis of molecules with TADF and phosphorescent properties, and in 2022 worked as collaborator professor at the State University of Ponta Grossa-UEPG. Nowadays he is accting as substitude professor at Federal University of Santa Catarina. He has experience in the area of ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, with an emphasis on the organic synthesis of biologically active molecules and luminescent compounds, as well as research into physical-chemical and biological properties of organic compounds.

Possui MESTRADO (2012) e DOUTORADO (2017) em QUÍMICA, com ênfase na área de QUÍMICA ORGÂNICA, pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina - UFSC, situada em Florianópolis - SC, Brasil. Desenvolveu parte do doutorado (doutorado sanduíche) no Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), atuando principalmente na síntese de novas piridinas substituídas a partir de reações de cicloadição. Além disso, possui graduação em BACHARELADO (2009) e LICENCIATURA (2010) em QUÍMICA, pela UFSC. Foi professor substituto do departamento de química da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina durante o período de 2018 - 2019. Durante os anos de 2020 e 2021 trabalhou como assistente de pesquisa na Silesian University of Technology na cidade de Gliwice, Polônia, atuando na síntese de moléculas com propriedades TADF e fosforescência. Em 2022 foi professor colaborador na Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa - UEPG. Atualmente é professor substituto do departamento de química da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Possui experiência na área de QUÍMICA ORGÂNICA, com ênfase na síntese orgânica de moléculas biologicamente ativas e compostos luminescentes, além da investigação de propriedades físico-químicas e biológicas de compostos orgânicos.
