Márcio Medeiros Soares

Bacharel em física pela UFRN (2005), com mestrado na UNICAMP (2008) e doutorado na Université de Grenoble e Institut Néel (2011), realizou pós-doutorado na UFPE (2011-2012) e no European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (2012-2014). Entre 2014 e 2019, foi pesquisador do Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron, onde liderou o grupo da linha XRD2 e participou do projeto da linha de nano-foco CARNAÚBA do SIRIUS. Desde 2020 é professor do Departamento de Física da Universidade Federal da Paraíba, atuando na área de física da matéria condensada, com ênfase em magnetismo, caracterizações avançadas com técnicas de síncrotron e instrumentação científica. Busca contribuir na compreensão de fenômenos e sistemas com relevância tecnológica, através de uma investigação conjunta de propriedades magnéticas, estruturais, eletrônicas, mecânicas, químicas e de transporte.

Graduate in physics from UFRN (2005), with MSc from UNICAMP (2008) and PhD from Université de Grenoble and Institut Néel (2011), performed postdoc at the UFPE and at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (2012-2014). Between 2014 and 2019, at the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), was the scientist in charge of the XRD2 beamline and participated in the project of the CARNAÚBA nanoprobe beamline of SIRIUS, the new Brazilian synchrotron light source. Since 2020, is a professor at the Physics Department of the Federal University of Paraíba, actuating in the field of condensed matter physics, with emphasis on magnetism, advanced characterization with synchrotron techniques and scientific instrumentation. Aims to contribute to the understanding of phenomena and systems with technological relevance, through a combined investigation of magnetic, structural, electronic, mechanical, chemical and transport properties.
