Karla Resende da Costa

I hold a Masters' Degree in International Relations from the Pontificial Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2019-2021), where my research was focused on the themes of the affective turn, the extreme rightw-wing, populism and conspiracy theories. I have majored in International Relations at the Federal University of Uberlândia (2014-2018), where my research was focused on theory and culture. I was a part of the Culture and IR Study Group, and have written both my Scientific Initiation project and Monograph on Ernesto Laclau's discourse theory. Currently, I am a PhD student in International Relations at the Pontificial Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2019-), where my research expands upon the themes of my Masters' research, but adding a focus on international regimes on the environment and climate change, on the impacts of science denial on those regimes, its production/reproduction of truth regimes that trace actions towards environmental preservation, and the impact of the affective relationship between truth, science and politics.

Possuo Mestrado em Relações Internacionais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (2019-2021), onde concentrei minha pesquisa nos temas de virada afetiva, extrema direita, populismo e teorias da conspiração. Minha graduação em Relações Internacionais pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2014-2018), teve pesquisa focada em temas teóricos e culturais, participando do Grupo de Estudos de Cultura e RI, e produzindo tanto Iniciação Científica quanto TCC explorando a teoria do discurso de Ernesto Laclau. Atualmente, curso Doutorado em Relações Internacionais na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (2021-), onde expando os temas da minha pesquisa do Mestrado, mas adicionando um foco especifico nos regimes internacionais de meio ambiente e combate à crise climática, nos impactos do negacionismo científico nesses regimes, na sua produção/reprodução de regimes de verdade que traçam ações em relação ao meio ambiente, e no impacto da relação afetiva entre verdade, ciência e política.
