Pedro da Luz Moreira

Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism at FAU-UFRJ (1983), completed a master's degree in Urbanism at PROURB FAU-UFRJ (1999) and a doctorate in Urbanism at PROURB FAU-UFRJ (2007). He was a founding partner of Archi 5 associate architects, working on urban and architectural projects, among which he stands out; HOSPITAL GERAL DE JACAREPAGUÁ, RIO CITY OF VILA ISABEL, FAVELA BAIRRO PARQUE ROYAL, FAVELA BAIRRO COMPLEX DO SAPÊ, RESEARCH CENTER JARDIM BOTANICO RJ, PARQUE VALE DOS CONTOS IN OURO PRETO MG. He was president of the Institute of Architects of Brazil, Department of Rio de Janeiro (IAB-RJ) for the terms of 2016-16 and 2013-19, during which he won for the city of Rio de Janeiro the right to host the World Congress of the International Union of Architects UIA2020Rio. He has been an associate professor at the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the Fluminense Federal University (EAU-UFF) since 2007, teaching disciplines in the field of Design, Planning and History and Theory of Architecture. Since 2012, he has been teaching the optional course HABITAR O CENTER for undergraduate and graduate students. He is currently coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGAU-UFF).He assumed the Coordination of the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGAU-UFF) in January 2022. He has research experience in the areas of DESIGN, IDEOLOGY AND HEGEMONY; IN SEARCH OF AN OPERATIVE CONCEPT FOR THE CITY IN BRAZIL; CITY AND IDEOLOGY, INHABIT THE CENTER; LAND LEGALIZATION IN THE EAST METROPOLITAN OF RJ. Key words of the research: Inclusion, City, Project, Center, Periphery, Housing, Favela (Slums) Ideology and Hegemony.

Possui graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo na FAU-UFRJ (1983), cursou mestrado em Urbanismo no PROURB FAU-UFRJ (1999) e doutorado em Urbanismo pelo PROURB FAU-UFRJ (2007). Foi sócio fundador do escritório Archi 5 arquitetos associados, atuando em projetos urbanos e arquitetônicos, dentre os quais destaca-se; HOSPITAL GERAL DE JACAREPAGUÁ, RIO CIDADE DE VILA ISABEL, FAVELA BAIRRO PARQUE ROYAL, FAVELA BAIRRO COMPLEXO DO SAPÊ, CENTRO DE PESQUISAS JARDIM BOTÂNICO, PARQUE VALE DOS CONTOS EM OURO PRETO MG. Foi presidente do Instituto de Arquitetos do Brasil, Departamento do Rio de Janeiro nos mandatos de 2013-16 e 2016-19, durante o qual conquistou para cidade do Rio de Janeiro o direito de sediar o Congresso Mundial da União Internacional de Arquitetos UIA2020Rio. É professor associado da Escola de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Federal Fluminense (EAU-UFF) desde 2007, ministrando disciplinas no campo do Projeto, do Planejamento e da História e Teoria da Arquitetura. Ministra desde de 2012 a disciplina optativa HABITAR O CENTRO para alunos de graduação e pós graduação. É atualmente coordenador do Programa de Pós Graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo (PPGAU-UFF). Assumiu a Coordenação do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo (PPGAU-UFF) em janeiro de 2022. Tem experiência em pesquisa nas áreas de PROJETO, IDEOLOGIA E HEGEMONIA; EM BUSCA DE UM CONCEITO OPERATIVO PARA A CIDADE NO BRASIL; CIDADE E IDEOLOGIA, HABITAR O CENTRO; REGULARIZAÇÃO FUNDIÁRIA NO LESTE METROPOLITANO DO RJ.
