Ayyaz Mahmood

Obtained my Master degree in Industrial Organic Chemistry (2009) and Master of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (2011) with research focusing on organic synthesis from Govt. College University, Lahore, Pakistan, considered to be one of the best universities in Pakistan.I obtained my PhD in Computational and Theoretical Chemistry in the group of Prof. Ricardo Luiz Longo at Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Recife Brazil (December 2015). The areas of my expertise are the study of mechanism, reactivity and selectivity of reactions in gas phase and in solutions by applying unimolecular and bimolecular reaction theories (TST, RRKM etc.); molecular dynamics, gas-phase kinetics, Quantum Chemistry, modeling solvent effects, description of molecular interactions, Organic synthesis, biomolecular simulations (protein engineering), and excited state calculations (TDDFT) and the study of electronic and molecular structure, NMR, Vibrational, UV-Vis molecular spectroscopy and charge transfer properties of neutral and ionic systems and radicals. I have got a hands-on experience in the use of Gaussian, MOPAC, TURBOMOLE, COLUMBUS, ADF, DFTB+, Spartan, HyperChem, Rosetta, VMD, ArgusLab, Chimera, GaussView, ChemCraft and other software packages. Currently I am working as a postdoctoral fellow at SPST, Tianjin University, Tianjin, China (till February 2018).I have professional experience as a professor of Chemistry working both on theory and experimental sections, having excellent communication skill and great command on English language, and have worked as lab analyst in different industries performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of the samples.
