A Profa. Dra. Léa Assed concluiu o Curso de Graduação em Odontologia na Faculdade de Odontologia de Ribeirão Preto - Universidade de São Paulo (FORP/USP), em 1972. Obteve o título de Especialista em Odontopediatria em 1976 e o título de Especialista em Odontologia para Pacientes com necessidades Especiais em 2004. Concluiu o Doutorado em Ciências Odontológicas (Odontopediatria) na Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, em 1991. É Professora Titular da Disciplina de Odontopediatria da FORP/USP desde 1999. É líder do Grupo de Pesquisa intitulado "Etiologia e Tratamento das Patologias Pulpares e Periapicais" além de participar de outros 4 grupos de pesquisa cadastrados no CNPq. Foi Diretora da FORP/USP (mandato 2016/2020). É bolsista de produtividade em pesquisa da CNPq, nível 1B. Membro do Corpo Editorial de diversos periódicos de circulação internacional e elevado fator de impacto. É assessora Ad-Hoc da Fapesp, CNPq e Capes. Já publicou mais de 300 artigos científicos ao longo da carreira universitária além de autoria de 3 livros e diversos capítulos de livro. Orientou e orienta diversos alunos de Mestrado, Doutorado e Pós-Doutorado. Atualmente é Chefe do Departamento de Clínica Infantil da FORP/USP, Vice-Cordenadora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Odontopediatria (CAPES 6) e Prefeita do Campus da USP de Ribeirão Preto.
Dr. Léa Assed completed the Undergraduate Course in Dentistry at the School of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto - University of São Paulo (FORP/USP) in 1972. She obtained the title of Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry in 1976 and the title of Specialist in Dentistry for Patients with Special Needs in 2004. Completed her Doctorate in Dental Sciences (Pediatric Dentistry) at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, in 1991. She is a Full Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at FORP/USP since 1999. She is the leader of the Research Group entitled "Etiology and Treatment Pulp and Periapical Pathologies" in addition to participating in 4 other research groups registered at CNPq. She was Director of FORP / USP (term 2016/2020). She is a CNPq Research Productivity Scholar, Level 1B. Member of the Editorial Board of several periodicals with international circulation and high impact factor. She is an Ad-Hoc advisor for Fapesp, CNPq and Capes. She has published more than 300 scientific articles throughout her university career, in addition to authoring 3 books and several book chapters. She has supervised and guides several Master's, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral students. She is currently Head of the Children's Clinic Department at FORP / USP, Vice-Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Pediatric Dentistry (CAPES 6) and Mayor of the USP Ribeirão Preto Campus.
