Eratostenes Edson Ramalho de Araujo

Engaged in S&T activities since 1975, he has served the UFPB, the UnB, and the CNPq as a professor, researcher, project manager and (Brazilian ICT) policy maker and implementer. He helped formulate and implement the National Program for Excellence in Software of the SOFTEX Society, the National Research Network (RNP) - the Brazilian branch of the Internet, and the Multi-institutional Programme in Computer Science (ProTeM-CC), established the basis for research and development in computing by focusing the research funding in strategic areas, collaborative projects between industry and universities, the consolidation of emergent groups and the creation of new ones. In SOFTEX, it stands out the programs conception and implementation, comprehending the methodologies development for the startups companies creation. All the programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT) and CNPq. In the period of 2003-2007, it takes part in the conception, development and implementation the MPS.BR Program, a national program for to improve software process in Brazilian organizations.He frequently participates in ICT forums and events all over Brazil and is a founding member of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).

Possui graduação em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (1974) e mestrado em Sistemas e Computação pelo Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1977). Atualmente é consultor autônomo. Tem experiência nas áreas de planejamento, gestão e implementação de programas mobilizadores em educação, ciência, tecnologia e inovação, especialmente nas áreas de tecnologias da informação e comunicação.
