Na instituição, ministrou disciplinas de Gestão Ambiental (Graduação em Engenharia Mecânica, Engenharia Elétrica), Ecologia Geral e Fisiologia Vegetal (Graduação em Ciências Biológicas); Limnologia Aplicada à Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, Gerenciamento e Manejo de Bacias Hidrográficas no Curso de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, e Ecologia da Paisagem para Graduação em Arquitetura. No Lato Sensu, Coordenou Cursos de Especialização em Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, em convênio com o Departamento de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental da UFMG, ministrando a disciplina Qualidade e usos da água. Ministrou Saneamento e Ambiente no Curso de Especialização em Geografia. Ainda no UNILESTE, foi professor orientador do Mestrado em Engenharia Industrial (Linha de Pesquisa em Avaliação e Mitigação de Impactos Ambientais) nas disciplinas Qualidade e Usos da Água; Biogeoquímica de Contaminantes e Fundamentos de Amostragem em Rios, lagos e Represas. Idealizou, implantou e coordenou o Laboratório de Pesquisas Ambientais do UNILESTE-MG, entre outubro de 2001 e março de 2009. O laboratório formou um doutor (co-orientação com a UFV), 10 mestres e abrigou dezenas projetos de Iniciação Científica e Pesquisa com bolsas da FAPEMIG, CAPES, CNPq, além de empresas privadas (CENIBRA S/A , Vallourec & Mannesmann Florestal LTDA) , COPASA e Instituto Gestor de Águas de Minas Gerais - IGAM. É ex-Membro do Conselho Consultivo do Parque Estadual do Rio Doce (Instituto Estadual de Florestas, IEF-MG), Ex- Membro Titular do Comitê da Bacia Hidrográfica do rio Piracicaba, Leste de Minas Gerais; ex-Membro Titular do COPAM Leste de Minas. Consultor da USIMINAS S.A. COPASA S.A.; Vallourec e Mannesmann Florestal e CENIBRA S.A. para reabilitação de áreas degradadas e avaliação de impactos de reflorestamento sobre recursos hídricos superficiais. Tem em impactos e controle de fontes difusas, rios de menor ordem, biomonitoramento de rios, Áreas Alagadas Construídas para tratamento de fontes pontuais e difusas e gerenciamento de bacias hidrográficas rurais, peri-urbanas e urbanas. É avaliador de cursos de graduação de Engenharia e Ciências Biológicas, capacitado pelo INEP. Atualmente é Professor da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG), Dedicação Exclusiva, 40h, no Campus de Frutal,. Foi Assessor Titular da Câmara de Recursos Naturais e Tecnologia Ambiental (CRA) da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais - FAPEMIG, entre 2010 e 2014. É Revisor de Periódicos em Ciências Biológicas (Botânica) e Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental, Analytical Methods (RSC) e RSC Advances.
